seems if people want gay marriage so be it? but they should not have to ask for new laws,I don't care what people do in there homes as long as it doesn't infringe my rights, some states say drinking is ok @ 14 with your parents? so when will we hear other states wanting to adopt this? there are some things better left alone and the gay, les. thing needs left alone and not grant any class as is done,"DON'T ASK DON'T TELL" is what I would do , when will 3 in marriage be done next? or human/animal? 220 years MAN&WOMAN ONLY!!!
Yeah Meghan! That video is sweet and is so right on! I feel very strongly in the same opinions that you do, yet it is hard to be supportive of the GOP, thank you for being progressive and REAL!
megan mccain a legend in her own mind. 80% of her twitter followers only follow to hear how a fat foul mouth gay praiser talks about her ego. does she not know that her shit smells just like the rest of us? she would be nothing without her name. ever read cindy's twitter? thank goodness she is not our first lady. that would have been worst than having palin as vp.
megan mccain even posts daily the "song for today" LOL now she thinks she is a music critic. SUCH EGO for a fat loud mouth. john should be proud. LOL he did not raise a daughter with proper manners and he actually thought he could run our country?
I couldn't care less what Meghan McCain's views are. She's just so damn skin-crawlingly creepy. She comes by it naturally, though - it's a strange family in which John, Cindy, and Meghan all share a brain. Love the fact that Cindy used to steal drugs from people who really needed them. Nice.
Meghan McCain is one of the few moderate Republicans out there. She should be the new young, fresh voice of the Republican party. At least she provides sensible solutions and not ridiculous, hateful drivel like Rush Limbaugh and Bill-O. I hope the neo-cons fade away into extinction.
didn't people ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all? get off Meg's back! She has the guts to sound off.. stop name calling... so offensive... stop talking about weight, etc. look at your own self before saying nasty things! yall are just jealous because she is beautiful...
There is no need for all this nastiness! you people need a LIFE! how sad is it that you much HATE on everyone! whats REALLY pathetic is you all have to say negative stuff anonymously bc ur too ashamed to say ur real name. i LOVE meghan mccain for speaking out..someone in the republican party needs to bc theyre a hot mess right now! That one person was right meghan wouldnt be anything w/out her name...but she is using that for GOOD to spread LOVE! i see nothing wrong with that! keep up the great work meghan! Also if you dont like meghan dont follow her on twitter or keep up w/her life...try going to church or doing something to help others.
Sweetme, what solutions does Meghan McCain provide? She provides NO solutions. What she does provide is a lot of childish bitching. In fact, there's rarely a time when Ms. McCain ISN'T bitching - usually about the trivial idiotic details of her life. Then she'll take time out from that to throw decent human beings under the bus, mostly because they're not 25 years old, and that just grosses little Meggie out.
Have you noticed that other young people, smart young people in the Republican party, do not ever mention her name? That's because she's a lightweight, she's irrelevant, but she's getting attention from a certain dimwitted segment of the population, and that makes her happy - - so go Meghan. And to the poster, Heather - - if you think Meghan McCain is "spreading love," you haven't been paying attention. In spite of her bravado, this is a massively insecure young woman, which is the very thing that makes her so hateful.
Hey Meghan- Thanks for speaking your mind and standing up for what you believe in. The person who expresses oneself when one's views are so contrary to those of the people holding the reigns (especially when those people are so dismissive and hateful) is the person who deserves to be heard. I applaud you for holding your own in the face of such vitriol. The sad thing is that the same people who are spewing these insults at you and your family are the same people who were "unconditionally devoted" to your father's campaign and never spoke a word of disdain- until November 5th at least. Hopefully the Republican party that digs itself out of its current hole will be one composed of open-minded, thoughtful individuals who can work together with people from diverse backgrounds. It would be a nice contrast to the last 20-30 years of intimidation and ignorance.
PS- If it's any consolation, I find a little solace in your detractors' lack of grammar, punctuation, or ability to compose a complete thought. :-)
I think it's great that she supports gay marriage and sex education in schools, because our culture and media saturation teaches teens that sex sells, and they don't know how to prevent pregnancy. The minute my high school started teaching abstinence only, there was a spike in teen pregnancy, especially among the underclassmen.
As for her views on gay marriage, I support her one-hundred percent. Allowing gay couples the same rights as married couples does not infringe on heterosexual rights. It simply allows another lifestyle to have the same freedoms and choices as those already enjoyed by the majority of the American public.
As for all the cussing and personal attacks on Megan McCain, I am ashamed of some of the anonymous posters. When did having the gumption to disagree become un-American? She is exercising her right to free speech in a tasteful, non-hateful way. All of those who are attacking her personal attributes could learn a lesson or two from her.
Wait, she posts about her own life on her Twitter account? How egotistical! Her twitter account should only be about what the posters here want it to be about!
She supports issues she believes in, states her opinions without attacking anyone else's personal lives, and she's a well-spoken moderate.
Gay marriage needs laws to make their unions legal so they can have the same legal rights as heterosexual couples. It does not in any way infringe on the rights of those heterosexual couples.
Sex education needs to be brought back in schools because teenagers are no longer sheltered from the world. Television, music, and movies expose them to sex on a regular if not daily basis. If they don't know how to protect themselves not only from pregnancy but also STD's, then how does teaching abstinence only help? Isn't it a waste of the public funding to teach a redundant and useless program?
Go Megan for standing up for your beliefs, and the video is very well put together timing wise.
I love how most of Meghan's detractors hide behind anonymity, or are reduced to childish slurs.
I think she's AWESOME. A true voice for her generation and the future of the Republican party. All those hateful conservatives can crawl into a corner and shrivel into obscurity, just like conservative politics in general. Good riddance.
AnnArbor, she does provide solutions. For instance, a middle-ground for the abortion debate. She supports sex-education, contraception, safer sex practices, but still maintains her pro-life position. It makes more sense than telling young women that, "We're not going to educate you, just say no to sex." Guess what happens??? Lots of young women have sex and become pregnant or contract an STD. If more young people knew how to protect themselves, perhaps the need for abortion would be MUCH less. She also supports gay marriage. Imagine all those gay folks getting married, buying flowers and cakes for their ceremonies. Economic stimulus! On top of equal marriage rights. She asks for "Don't ask, don't tell" to be repealed. Have you read about the young men and women being discharged from the military for being gay even though they possess valuable skills that keep our troops safe? No solutions hey??? I respectfully disagree. Thank you Meghan and continue the great work.
What everyone is forgetting is that the Republican party should not be moderate. It should stay conservative. If you want to be a "moderate" republican, start your own party or become an independent. I don't want the word moderate any where near the word Republican. It's disrespectful to try to turn a party to beliefs that are from your own agenda...liberal on social issues? How can that be...so you believe in the free market and thats the only thing Republican about you? Okay well I would socially call you a liberal...She obviously doesnt know what the Republican party stands for...Have you ever met a moderate liberal? I think not...We conservatives believe in a strict interpretation of the constitution...moderate, not so much...So I don't believe there is any such thing as a moderate Republican. She even admitted that she was an Independent and only joined the Republican party for her dad as a birthday gift...WELL GO BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT PARTY! I certainly don't want her to be a part of th GOP cause she isn't one of us and obviously doesn't have the same beliefs as other republicans...ha ha moderate republican...oxymoron..
I think it's kind of ridiculous how much heat Meghan McCain gets, considering that her messages are so positive and so forward-thinking. I can't understand how anyone would rip someone up and down for their beliefs in equality...
But these are the same ridiculous people who refer to her as a "fat loud mouth".
In the same way, she's a wonderful role model, the kind of twenty-something that SHOULD be in the media, unlike train-wreck movie stars. What she's saying is central to changing politics; she's speaking to her peers, the younger crowd, and that's a great thing. The Republican party should be glad to have her.
The argument against "moderate republicans" is fairly inane. What state would our two major parties be in if leader of the party separated out everyone who didn't have a conservative view on every single issue? Politicians who speak for the party don't always follow the Republican Approved View. The GOP is already struggling with membership... Why make that worse by alienating "moderate Republicans"?
Why do you all have to get personal and call her fat or make fun of her for liking music? It's clear that there is nothing else of substance you have to say about her. It's sad and pathetic. I am a Democrat and disagree with Meghan on a lot of things but I also respect her for bringing some youth and vigor to the aging and close-minded Republican party. All you people preach is No to this and No to that. Get a grip and lighten up. You've been the same broken record for decades. And now someone is trying to modernize your party. Let her help you. You're cirlcing the drain people.
For all of you posters who keep lecturing about how Meghan McCain has a right to speak out and the rest of us should just more or less shut up - - nice try. McCain's not the only one who has the right to free speech - her detractors have it as well. I don't like her style, I think she's immature, I think she's laughably narcissistic, I think she's a mean person, and she is, without a doubt, extremely stupid.
And to Sweetme - - those supposed solutions you mentioned are not solutions - - they're her positions on different issues. Meghan McCain does not have the maturity, the life experience, or the brain power to come up with solutions for any problems of any kind. She is a vapid woman whose fulfillment in life depends on how many times her name gets mentioned on the internet. Sad but true.
Okay AnnArbor, when you raise the issue that a person is mean and then call that person stupid in the same sentence, it pretty much removes any possible credibility you may have had in one fell swoop. You can't convince anyone of anything when you use elementary playground tactics in your debate. If you really think you know her so well and that you have a firm grasp on her motives, then she's clearly outwitting you because she got you to mention her by name 3 times in one post, not including pronouns!
The difference between Meghan's argument and yours is that she expresses her views on issues in appropriate forums, when she is asked to elaborate on them (several examples are provided in the video itself), and you throw personal insults at every chance you get. You said yourself that you aren't interested in her views, so why are you commenting on a video with subject matter relating solely to her political views? If you want to gossip about her family or her style choices, they have a forum for that. I think it's tmz.com, or perezhilton.com, or the like. You can even draw nasty circles on pictures and use crayon typeface! There is a psychological term for the nature of your posts. It's called projection.
Ann Arbor, stop bashing this young woman for expressing her opinions. Her opinions are possible solutions by opening up a dialogue about sensitive subjects that deeply divide this country. How can a woman who speaks her mind so freely and against the outdated Republican talking points possibly be insecure? It's sad that you seem to take such pleasure in saying such nasty things about Ms. McCain. If anything, you are being hateful.
Dustin, Sweetme, and the rest of you kids - - are any of you over the age of 15? Seriously. We are talking about MEGHAN MCCAIN. Meghan McCain, Dustin, who adores Perez Hilton (ask her) and, I would imagine, TMZ. Both of those websites represent the Meggie style I was referring to, a style I don't care for. She is nothing more than an over-grown teeny-bopper, and people who think she will have any kind of role or make any difference whatsoever in the Republican party are living in a funny little fantasy world - which is exactly where Meggie lives.
