Norm Coleman Wants to GOP to Compete on the Ethernet
Somehow I think Norm Coleman's not going to be the one to lead this charge.
"In the end, we need to compete, as I’ve said before, we need to compete in each and every kind of forum. And whether it’s on the ground traditionally, or today it’s in — it’s in the ethernet. It’s in the — you know, it’s online. It’s in the blogs, it’s Twitter, it’s Facebook, and the next iteration.”
New Music on the Blogs
It's a big week for Dirty Projectors, with the release of their new album (available to stream at NPR), a profile on NYTimes, and the Summerstage opener tonight with TV on the Radio. You can download one of the tracks from Bitte Orca below. Also, check out the just-released new song from Yo La Tengo's upcoming "Popular Songs" album, a funky new Animal Collective remix, one of the better tracks from Santigold's Southerngold mixtape and finally the year-late, horrifying video of MGMT's "Kids."

Karl Rove Weighs in on Obama's Cairo Speech
A debate between Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly where O'Reilly is playing "devil's advocate" is bound to be contentious. Ultimately, Rove defines the difference between being liked and being respected. If there's one word you can attach to President Bush in the eyes of the Muslim world it is "respect."
