Last night's Modern Family took a classic sitcom premise (the Hawaiian vacation) and turned it on its head, giving us the entire day leading up to boarding the plane. My favorite moment came at the beginning of Phil and Claire's day, when Phil expressed his awkward familial feelings for Claire.
