Top 5 Funniest Videos of the Week - 8/8/10

This past week, the internet blessed us with a couple of videos that gave us a look at two struggling actors before they became the hilarious, good-looking comedians we know them as today. First, we saw Tina Fey's TV debut in a trying-too-hard-to-be-quirky spot for Mutual Savings Back back in 1995 (possibly the inspiration for Liz Lemon's 1-900-OK-Face commercial). Then, the Jewish Forward (naturally) posted a video of highlights from Paul Rudd's pre-Clueless gig as a Bat Mitzvah DJ. Thank you, these videos, for reminding us that everyone has to start somewhere.

At first I thought that his crazy interview with Tennessee gubernatorial candidate Basil Marceaux would be the highlight of Jimmy Kimmel's week. But then I saw his preview of the new Justin Bieber 3D bio-pic, aptly titled The Boy Who Can't See Glass. I'm also looking forward to the sequel, The Boy Who Has Never Heard of Germany.

Will Ferrell was on late night full-court press last week to promote The Other Guys. According to early box office reports, it appears to have worked. While his performance of "Send in the Clowns" on Letterman was inspired, it was this sketch, dug up from an old SNL reject pile, that really delivered. I can't be for sure whether this was because of or despite Jimmy Fallon's inability to keep a straight face.

Finally, this falls in the apropos of nothing category, but it made me laugh as much as anything else this week, so here you go.
