I just got a chance to watch The Onion News Network's full "Future: News From The Year 2137" feature and I have to say that it really is as brilliant as you want it to be. It certainly owes a lot to Mike Judge's classic Idiocracy, with the poor grammar, excessive public profanity, newscasters with cleavage and professional wrestler-style President.
But with its commentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and gay marriage, it goes beyond that movie to show a scary yet hilarious vision of the not so distant future. Plus, the graphics are insane.
You can watch the trailer below, but I highly suggest spending the $2 to download the whole 12 and a half minute piece from iTunes. Imagine that, a piece of digital content that's actually worth paying for. It's the future...
