Gotcha Links of the Day | Iran's Supreme Leader Joins Instagram
Iran's Supreme Leader started using Instagram, but he's far from mastering the proper blur and filter features. ᔥ The Atlantic President Obama is winning the Twitter Political Index poll, but not by much. ᔥ BuzzFeed Stephen Colbert's Colbchella '012 is poised to be the festival of the summer. ᔥ AV Club If the Obama campaign didn't already completely discredit Mitt Romney's Bain credentials, this new ad from the Romney camp just might do it. ᔥ ThinkProgess In a move guaranteed to confuse a lot of New Englanders, the only Chick-fil-A in New Hampshire is going to sponsor a gay pride festival. ᔥ Jezebel

Gotcha Morning | Democrats Embrace Gay Marriage in National Platform
Yesterday, we learned that the Democratic party is moving to make support of gay marriage part of their official platform. As could have been expected, two prominent Evangelical voices on the right immediately spoke out against the decision.
Pat Robertson called it the "death knell" of the Democratic Party. Mike Huckabee actually went further in his comments to say that the Democrats are "so interested in getting votes form a certain community and the contributions that they’re willing to forego their own principles and just throw them overboard."
ᔥ RWW
Someone who undoubtedly thinks it's more about principle than politics is Congressman Barney Frank, who went on Hardball to discuss the issue last night. Frank says he's "baffled by the media" for making a big deal about the platform change since President Obama has already expressed his support for marriage equality and the vast majority of Democrats in the House have voted against the Defense of Marriage Act.
Mike Huckabee is trying to inflate the importance of the platform change to rally social conservatives around the recently anti-gay marriage candidate Mitt Romney. Barney Frank is downplaying it as the next logical step for a party that no longer needs to hide their position on gay rights. But just as President Obama announcing his personal support for marriage equality and Barney Frank becoming the first sitting member of Congress to get married to a partner of the same-sex are seen as affirming, symbolic gestures by gay and lesbian people around the country, the Democrats putting their support in writing should be just as momentous as Chris Matthews wants it to be.
